• Ensuring client's speech recognition technology remains state-of-the-art, in terms of noise robustness, accent tolerance, language modeling, accuracy and vocabulary size on mobile platforms, etc.
• Spearheading the development of innovative new technologies involving speech and signal processing, with a focus on quality and fit to mobile platform resources
• Porting, or supporting porting, of these technologies to various embedded platforms, including different processors, operating systems and audio channels
• Quoting projects to develop new technologies or port existing technologies
• Team leadership

A strong academic background in HMM-based speech recognition is required. Experience with neural networks and probabilistic models is desired. Capable of creating theoretical models of technology, rigorously proving them, and then porting to specific embedded and PC platforms using C and scripting languages. Ability to clearly document the operations of the technologies is a must, including original design specifications.
Management or team leadership experience preferred.

• PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or allied field with a focus on speech recognition and/or signal processing
• Demonstrated ability to team lead speech recognition technology evolution with disciplined processes required, as evidenced by past accomplishments and/or technical publications
• Demonstrated ability in speech signal processing is required
• Familiarity with research literature and ability to stay abreast of latest developments in the literature is required
• Fundamental understanding of computing architecture required
• Competence in C programming required
• 5 or more years of experience in the speech recognition industry required
• Knowledge of Tcl and Perl preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of text-to-speech preferred, as evidenced by publications and/or past accomplishment
